About The Position
The Maine College of Health Professions (MCHP) is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for its Nursing program. This is a full-time position with variable shifts, based at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving a large population across Maine, offering a wide range of clinical services and facilities.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in nursing from an accredited university or college, or a bachelor's degree in nursing with a plan to complete a master's degree in nursing from an accredited university or college within six years of enrollment.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Maine or documentation of pursuit of a license to practice in Maine.
- Current American Heart Association healthcare provider BLS certification.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the practice of professional nursing, preferably in the clinical area in which student clinical laboratory experiences will occur.
- Willingness to work according to a flexible schedule (nights and weekends may be required).

- Previous teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate nursing program.
- Doctoral degree
Responsibilities
- Teach nursing courses – didactic and clinical
- Select learning experiences and guide students in achieving desired outcomes
- Participate in the evaluation process of students in achieving desired outcomes
- Advise students
- Participate in curriculum development
- Actively engage in activities that advance the mission and goals of the College
- Maintain clinical and academic expertise
- Comply with requirements and policies delineated in the MCHP faculty handbook
- Perform other duties as assigned
