About The Position

Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for Non-Credit courses in Budget and Finance. This role is crucial in delivering highly relevant education and training to serve and elevate the economic, social, cultural, and environmental vitality of the Rocky Mountain region. CMC is a comprehensive, public, open-access institution offering a wide range of programs, including non-credit and lifelong learning courses. The college emphasizes student success, innovation, and a commitment to working effectively with diverse populations. Adjunct faculty are expected to teach assigned course loads, prepare lesson plans, foster professional relationships with students and staff, assist in student recruitment and curriculum evaluation, represent the college professionally, and complete required annual training.

Requirements

  • An equivalent/applicable combination of education and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Teaching experience in continuing education or community education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Must be a resident of the State of Colorado and perform all work duties within the state.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
  • Constant written and oral communication.
  • Ability to reason and analyze.
  • Ability to perform calculations occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching course load as assigned.
  • Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course outcomes.
  • Develop a professional relationship with students and staff that encourages teacher/student communication.
  • Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate.
  • When agreed upon, and as appropriate, assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
  • Represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
  • Complete all required annual CMC training courses (e.g., Title IX, Digital Accessibility, and Data Security and Privacy).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Non-credit Community Education compensation is based on Pay Levels ranging from 1-5.
  • New faculty's Pay Level is determined by the campus supervisor and ranges $20-$60 per hour.
  • Pay Levels are determined from varying degrees of expertise and evidence in the instructional area.
