Adjunct Faculty - Music
About The Position
The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in its Music Program. The Music faculty participate in a vibrant music technology program and oversee a diverse assortment of choral groups; jazz, string, and brass ensembles; and concert and stage bands. In addition, faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate thematic surveys, advanced topic seminars, and capstone practicums in music theory and history, audio arts, music technology, as well as composition, arrangement, and performance. We are looking for outstanding artists/scholars, but successful candidates must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. A successful candidate should hold a Doctorate in music (PhD, DMA, DMus, etc.). This posting may be used to apply for positions available in Music. Submitting an application through this part-time posting will place you in an applicant pool to fill Music adjunct faculty positions on an as needed basis. Specific topics and start dates will vary over the academic year. Qualified applicants from this applicant pool will be contacted as opportunities arise. Requirements
- Hold a Doctorate in music (PhD, DMA, DMus, etc.).
- Demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility.
- Ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches.
- Submit a cover letter that addresses relevant expertise and experience.
- Submit a current c.v. that includes the names and contact information for three references.
- Submit evidence of teaching experience (syllabi, teaching portfolio, etc.).
