About The Position

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking adjunct faculty to teach in the School of Cybersecurity & Information Technology. Specifically, the role involves teaching Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administration (CMIT 380), a lab-based course focused on deploying, configuring, securing, and maintaining modern endpoint devices using Microsoft solutions like Intune, Entra ID, and Windows client management. Topics include endpoint deployment, application management, identity and access management, security policies, and troubleshooting techniques, with hands-on exercises and industry-aligned assessments. UMGC is a mission-driven institution serving approximately 90,000 adult learners globally, including a significant number of U.S. military members and their families. The institution emphasizes a "Students First" approach and values scholar-practitioners who can help students grow in their knowledge and expertise.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Cyber Operations or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Professional experience in Cyber Operations or related fields.
  • Industry Designations/Certifications including the Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator (MD-102).
  • Successfully complete our online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.
  • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
  • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
