About The Position
The College of Liberal Arts Anthropology Department at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) seeks an adjunct lecturer to teach two courses on a per-course basis for Fall 2026 at the UNH Durham campus. The courses are ANTH 411 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology: Global Perspectives on the Human Condition and ANTH 440A Medicine and Culture: Science, Technology and the Body. The position involves lecture-based instruction, examination, assigned activities, and providing non-grading support for student course assistants. Office hours are also required.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Anthropology with focus in medical and or cultural anthropology required
- PhD or advanced candidacy in Anthropology in these areas preferred
Nice To Haves
- Previous undergraduate teaching experience as sole or primary instructor is highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach coursework as assigned in the UNH Department of Anthropology
- Teach one introduction to cultural anthropology course; lecture-based instruction and examination with some assigned activities (85 students); some non-grading support of student course assistant; hold at least one (1) hour of student office hours per week.
- Teach one introductory medical anthropology course oriented in social studies of science and technology; lecture-based instruction and examination with some assigned activities (35 students); hold at least one (1) hour of student office hours per week.
