About The Position

This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. This position will assist with the curriculum updates; the successful candidate will teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career; demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard or instructor-prepared instructional aides; instruct students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment; control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse; and establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity-type classroom.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with an HVAC Certification; or Certification in EPA 608 Levels 1 and 2 plus 3 years of experience in HVAC field.
  • Proficiency with installation and repair on various types of commercial and residential air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration units.
  • Working knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC, building code requirements, OSHA and EPA regulations, and job site safety.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Employment eligibility requirement to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.
  • Must pass a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) approved background check.
