About The Position

Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking applicants to fill adjunct teaching positions for the Fall 2026 semester, running from August 24, 2026, to December 18, 2026. Positions are available to teach multiple sections of introductory algebra and statistics on our campus in Lincoln, NE. The successful candidate will be offered up to three sections from the available MATH 1100 College Algebra or MATH 1300 Statistics courses.

Requirements

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, OR a different field with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics.
  • Background check and official transcripts needed after job is offered and prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach multiple sections of introductory algebra and statistics.
  • Teach MATH 1100 College Algebra, covering functions from algebraic, graphical, numerical, and modeling perspectives, including linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions.
  • Teach MATH 1300 Statistics, emphasizing applications and covering descriptive statistics, discrete and continuous probability distributions, the central limit theorem, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and linear regression.
