About The Position

This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. This position will assist and follow all curricula and, more importantly, be a team player. The successful candidate will teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career; demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard and/or instructor-prepared aides per state requirements; instruct students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment per state requirements and manufacturer; control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse; and establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in a hands-on activity classroom setting. This position reports to the program director, Sonja McCall-Strehlow and the Department Head, Applied Technology and Professional Services. Requires being available for both morning and evening classes.

Requirements

Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a Facials Certification/License.
Licensed in the field of facials for at least six years, a two-year degree with four years’ experience, a four-year degree with two years’ experience, or a master’s degree with one year experience.
Proficiency with various types of facials modalities.
Clear understanding of OSHA and sanitization rules and regulations, plus job safety.
Reliable transportation.
Meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.
Disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application.

Nice To Haves

Prior teaching experience is preferred.
