Requirements

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
• Higher education teaching experience.
• Candidates for this position must have flexibility to teach day, evening, or weekend classes.
• Teaching assignments may include satellite locations, alternative delivery methods, and all levels of Communication.
• Must also possess excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

• Experience with online course development and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teaching English courses and departmental electives, may be on one or more of the college's offsite locations at a variety of times, including online. Maintenance of office hours is required.
• The adjunct faculty member will participate in various service activities for the department, division, and college including, but not limited to, assessment, course development, curriculum development, advising, and committee service. Participation in non-instructional campus activities is also required.
• The adjunct faculty member will also participate in various professional development activities and perform all other assigned duties associated with the function of the Department of Languages and Communication and the Division of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
• Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a demonstrated commitment to student success with a student-centered approach to education, a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and effectiveness, an understanding and appreciation of an applied approach to the study of the discipline, and a willingness to follow the approved departmental curriculum established by the departmental faculty, chair, and dean. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to student development in and outside of the classroom. Candidates must also have ability to communicate and work effectively with students, college faculty and staff, and the community.
