About The Position

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty members will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Requirements

  • Possess an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in an engineering discipline, and Two years' work experience in an Engineering field, or Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • For ENGR 116: Possess an earned baccalaureate degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a Technology discipline, and Two years' work experience in an Engineering field
  • For ENGR 140 and ENGR 160: Possess an earned baccalaureate degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics, and Two years' work experience in an Engineering field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with/knowledge of: SolidWorks or another parametric modeling software
  • Materials and material processing theory and testing equipment
  • Solving static and dynamic mechanical systems with and without calculus
  • Programming in C++ or MATLAB
  • Circuit theory and design
  • Engineering project design and teamwork
  • Undergraduate teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide course syllabus to students and follow syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to college policy.
  • Submit requested information within established timelines.
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and/or provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program chair to resolve issues.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s), notifying program chair of unexpected absences.
  • Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
