UMGC is a mission-driven institution committed to adult learners, serving approximately 90,000 students globally, with a significant population of working adults, parents, minority students, and U.S. military personnel and their families. The adjunct faculty role emphasizes being a scholar-practitioner, actively engaging students, guiding them in applying learning, providing constructive feedback, and connecting concepts across their academic program. Faculty are also expected to provide feedback on curricular improvements. New faculty must complete a two-week online new faculty orientation (FacDev 411) as a condition of hire.
