Augsburg University's Department of Social Work is inviting applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach undergraduate, graduate, and LADC program courses for the 2026-27 academic year. This search will establish a pool of instructors who may be selected on an as-needed basis throughout the year for openings occurring in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. Available courses vary by term. Graduate courses are taught in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions with asynchronous online activities, and meet either weeknights or on weekends. In addition to teaching and grading, instructors are expected to respond to student inquiries via email, hold regular office hours, provide course progress updates, and communicate with the course coordinator. A course syllabus, including calendar, textbook and homework selection, sample activities, exams, and shared office space, are typically provided. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours per week for 15-16 weeks. The successful candidate must possess a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation. Adjunct teaching at Augsburg University is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284.
