Adjunct Faculty - Cybersecurity
About The Position
Gwinnett Technical College is hiring a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA-exempt professional adjunct faculty member in its Computer Sciences Division. The position reports to the Program Director – Cyber Security and is paid a lump sum based on contact hours taught. The instructor prepares and delivers lecture and/or laboratory course material, including classroom and online instruction for specified courses, and supports student progress and college recruitment, retention, and job-placement efforts. Faculty credentials must satisfy the requirements of applicable accrediting bodies for the assigned course.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the field and at least 18 semester hours or 30 quarter hours at the graduate level in the specified field, or a master’s degree in a related field.
- Two years of relevant work experience.
- Faculty must meet credentialing requirements of appropriate accrediting bodies for the assigned course.
Nice To Haves
- CISSP and/or Security+ certification.
- Cybersecurity experience in the field.
- Instructional experience.
- Certification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lecture and/or laboratory course material.
- Prepare lesson plans for classroom and/or online instruction for specified courses.
- Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports.
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
- Display effort and commitment, work effectively within the organizational structure, and demonstrate trustworthy and responsible behavior.
- Accept direction and feedback from the supervisor and follow through appropriately.
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job-placement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned in fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.
