About The Position

Lesley University's Department of Psychology+ is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach CPSYC 3524 - Art Therapy Applications for the Fall Semester of 2026. This is an in-person, on-campus position. The course will be held on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. In this course, students will build upon their existing knowledge of art therapy and the creative process by examining the applications of art therapy across a variety of groups, settings, clinical diagnoses, and social issues. Students will gain exposure to different approaches such as school-based art therapy, medical art therapy, and community art therapy. They will also develop an understanding of how art therapists incorporate socio-cultural dimensions and systemic factors when working with diverse communities and contexts.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Art Therapy, Expressive Art Therapies, Psychology, or a related field.
Demonstrated success teaching at the undergraduate level.
Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

PhD or terminal degree.
Professional experience with Art Therapy practice.

Responsibilities

Teach CPSYC 3524 - Art Therapy Applications during the Fall Semester 2026.
Facilitate student learning in art therapy applications across various groups, settings, diagnoses, and social issues.
Educate students on approaches like school-based art therapy, medical art therapy, and community art therapy.
Develop students' understanding of socio-cultural dimensions and systemic factors in art therapy.
