About The Position

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year. This position will teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the CBE Orientation Courses. The role involves responding to student inquiries within 24 hours, providing timely feedback, facilitating courses according to the standard syllabus, monitoring undergraduate-level orientation courses, and providing weekly status reports. The faculty member will also develop and maintain teaching materials, and prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in organizational leadership or closely related field with 18 hours in field/subject area OR Master’s degree in organizational leadership with terminal degree in closely related field.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the CBE Orientation Courses.
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
• Facilitate courses by adhering to the standard course syllabus as provided by the Assistant Dean.
• Monitor undergraduate-level orientation courses for CBE programs and provide weekly status reports to advisors.
• Develop and maintain teaching materials (e.g., syllabi, course content, question libraries, etc.).
• Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations.
• Other duties as assigned.
