About The Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Nursing and Life Sciences Division that reports to the Program Director of Patient Care. The role involves preparing and delivering lecture and/or lab/clinical course material, preparing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and maintaining required documentation. The position also assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. All clinical adjunct faculty must follow credentialing requirements of affiliated agencies. New instructors will undergo orientation and may receive additional observation and assistance in the clinical setting. The role requires adherence to specific uniform and footwear requirements during clinical rotations and submission of necessary documentation for approval.

Requirements

  • Registered Nursing (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current, active, unrestricted Georgia License.
  • Minimum of two years of full‐time paid in field work experience as a RN or LPN within the past five years.
  • One year of experience must be in long term care.
  • Must have train the trainer certification and approval with Alliant Health GMCF prior to teaching.
  • Candidates are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Must complete Hazardous Materials Training as well as the Bloodborne & Airborne Pathogen training annually if offered a position.
  • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab/clinical course material.
  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom/clinical instruction for general core courses.
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
  • Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.
  • Follows credentialing requirements of affiliated agencies.
  • Completes orientation conducted by the Program Coordinator (PC).
  • Wears appropriate uniform to include a name tag that designates the name of the NATP and the individual’s status (student or instructor).
  • Wears non-skid footwear during the clinical rotation.
