About The Position

Illinois Central College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach art courses at its East Peoria Campus. Day and evening course schedules are available. If courses are available, adjuncts may continue teaching in future semesters. The role is part-time, for up to 12 contact hours per semester.

Adjunct Faculty are primarily responsible for instructing assigned courses in accordance with classroom standards and institutional syllabi. They maintain office hours and availability to support student success. Applicants must be Illinois residents at the time of hire. Requirements

• Master's degree in Art, Studio Art, and/or Art History; or a master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Art, Studio Art, and/or Art History.
• Must be a resident of Illinois at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience instructing, tutoring, or similarly teaching in Art, Studio Art, and/or Art History.
• Experience working in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coordinate assigned courses, including lecture and/or lab-based classes.
• Ensure necessary course materials and tools are available and safety standards are met when appropriate.
• Follow assigned course syllabi and communicate coursework expectations and schedules.
• Maintain office hours and availability.
• Communicate with students and work to support their success.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to improve and adapt the student experience to meet student, community, and institutional needs.
• Perform related duties as required.
