About The Position

Oakland Community College (OCC) is a student-centered community college in Oakland County, Michigan, dedicated to providing accessible and affordable quality learning opportunities. As one of the largest community colleges in Michigan, OCC serves over 12,000 students across multiple campuses. OCC is seeking Adjunct Faculty Instructors who are committed to diversity, shared responsibility, open communication, personal empowerment, integrity, and ethical conduct. Adjunct Faculty are expected to utilize modern technology in the classroom. Applications are continuously accepted for an adjunct candidate pool, and instructors are hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year based on enrollment. When a need arises, applications from the pool are reviewed, and the Department will contact selected candidates directly. Candidates without legal residence in Michigan will be employed through Edustaff, with employment offers, salary, and benefits provided by Edustaff, not OCC. Applicants are required to submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts for all degrees listed in the minimum education and experience section. Transcripts must show the degree award date, and official transcripts will be required within 30 days of hire if selected.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Information Systems OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems and 5 years of experience OR Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems and 8 years of experience.
• Submit current resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts for all relevant degrees earned in the subject matter related to the courses being taught.
• Transcripts must reflect date degree conferred.
• If hired, official transcripts will be required within one month of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with multi-cultural students and staff preferred.
• Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural working environment.
• Online teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be to teach anticipated day and/or evening Computer Information Systems courses, which range from basic to advanced skill levels.
• Where applicable, adjuncts are required to maintain and/or provide licensure and certifications.
