About The Position

The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty pool in Biology. This posting will remain open for up to one year to build a pool of qualified candidates who may be considered for future teaching opportunities as departmental needs arise. The Biology program serves students pursuing careers in the biological sciences, healthcare professions, medicine, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, and related fields. We seek educators who are committed to student-centered teaching and helping students develop scientific knowledge, laboratory skills, critical thinking abilities, and an appreciation for the biological sciences. Assignments may include day or evening courses and are expected to be delivered on Husson University's Bangor campus.

Requirements

  • An earned Master's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific concepts effectively to undergraduate students.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A PhD or other terminal degree.
  • Successful college-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching laboratory courses and supervising student laboratory work.
  • Expertise, teaching interests, laboratory experience, and any specialized areas of biological science.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lecture and laboratory courses in areas such as General Biology I (Cell and Molecular Biology), General Biology II (Organismal and Ecological Biology), Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Human Biology, Ecology and Environmental Biology, and Special Topics in Biology.
  • Support student development of scientific knowledge, laboratory skills, critical thinking abilities, and an appreciation for the biological sciences.
  • Provide engaging, inclusive, and student-centered instruction.
  • Collaborate with faculty to support common course objectives, assessment practices, and student success initiatives.
