About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. The primary assignment is to teach a part-time load of nursing theory and/or clinical courses. Duties and responsibilities associated with the position involve activities within the department as well as the larger college setting. These duties may include, but are not limited to, facilitating student learning by designing varied interactive learning environments; working as a team with staff and administrators to create innovative educational experiences and providing an environment where students are partners in learning; assisting in program planning, peer evaluation, educational project development, and participating in personal and professional growth, as well as, professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing; OR Bachelor’s degree in Nursing AND Master’s in Health Education or Health Science; OR the equivalent
  • At least one year of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last five years
  • One (1) year’s continuous full time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency and completion of at least one year of experience teaching courses related to nursing or a course which includes practice in teaching nursing.
  • A current California RN License

Nice To Haves

  • A strong background in Pediatric nursing is required.

Benefits

  • The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments.
  • Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
