About The Position

The Department of College of Music seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Assistant Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is to provide support at an adjunct assistant level in Instrumental Studies. You will assist the instructor of record assigned to a specific course for duties such as but not limited to grading and tutoring. All instruction will take place on the main UNT campus in Denton.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in music or a closely related field
  • At least three years of professional experience
  • Prior college-level teaching experience

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree in music or a closely related field
  • Experience teaching and/or working in higher education with reference to the standards of the UNT College of Music
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the instructor of record assigned to a specific course for duties such as grading and tutoring.
