About The Position

Savannah Technical College is seeking adjunct faculty for the allied health core courses. The faculty will provide theory and practical instruction to a level sufficient for students to develop the skills necessary to progress into a post-secondary Health Science program or become employed in their chosen Health Science profession. The position may require the supervision of students during patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a Health Care related field from an accredited, post-secondary institution
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in health care within the preceding three (3) years
  • Must be flexible to teach day, or evening classes, or online courses
  • Possess current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Possess valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
  • Possess basic computer skills including Word, excel, PowerPoint, and email

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing with one year of nursing experience
  • Experience teaching adults and/or supervising students in a clinical setting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing or in a health care related field from an accredited, post-secondary institution
  • American Heart Association BLS and Heartsaver Instructor

Responsibilities

  • Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and clinicals using appropriate teaching methods
  • Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for occupational courses
  • Develop, manage, and teach classes, delivering instruction both individually and as a member of a team
  • Develop and coordinate curriculum
  • Conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department as requested
  • Complete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments and agencies
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards of regional and national accrediting agencies
  • Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Follow policies/procedures of Savannah Technical College, to include standards for student-faculty professional relationships/interaction
  • Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with College employees, students, community partners, and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
