About The Position

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking a Workforce Allied Health Adjunct Instructor for the Workforce & Economic Development Department. This unclassified adjunct position involves providing instruction in Allied Health programs, developing curriculum, delivering customized training, overseeing adjuncts, and maintaining student records. The role also includes assisting the Director of Workforce Operations, serving as a primary point of contact for industry partners, and acting as a liaison between various campus departments regarding Allied Health programs.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Unencumbered License for the State of Louisiana
  • Experience in long-term care and a minimum of one year in Med Surg
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse academic, staff and student populations as well as external constituents.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college preparing to meet the needs of the 21st century.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytic, problem solving, decision making, organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assign lessons to students and correct homework; administer tests to evaluate achievement of students in technical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Present subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations.
  • Ensure the use of classroom time is organized and that instruction and clean-up (if applicable) can be accomplished within the allotted time.
  • Assist students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; respond to basic student questions; may initiate study groups in preparation for examinations.
  • Enforce classroom protocols, rules and regulations; maintain classroom discipline; utilize effective classroom management techniques.
  • Responsible for Workforce Development Allied Health programs, including program and course creation and training.
  • Creation and delivery of customized training for industry partners.
  • Oversee adjuncts within the workforce development group.
  • Maintain student records.
  • Assist the Director of Workforce Operations responsibilities within program areas.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Allied Health industry partners.
  • Serve as the liaison between Campus Directors, Dean of Allied Health and Nursing, and non-academic programs regarding all Allied Health programs.
