About The Position

An Affiliate Faculty in Digital Media in the College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) Department of Communication has primary responsibilities for teaching in-seat courses, on an as needed basis, collaborating with the faculty of the Department of Communication. Colorado Christian University (CCU) is seeking candidates who have a Master’s degree in Communication or a related field from an accredited college/university OR sufficient professional experience in the field to be deemed "highly qualified" to teach digital media classes according to our accreditor's standards. Experience teaching courses in digital media at the college level is preferred. A passion for CCU's Strategic Priorities and for Christian higher education is essential. The Affiliate Faculty will contribute to CCU’s mission by enhancing and advancing exemplary academics, spiritual growth, and engagement with the world. This position has no guarantee of employment and is on an as needed basis. The Affiliate Faculty will advise and mentor digital media students as is deemed necessary by the CUS Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. They will also provide strategic thinking in fulfilling the goals of the CUS Department of Communication in support of the University Strategic Objectives and provide effective servant leadership among faculty, staff, students, and administrators.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Communication or a related field from an accredited college/university OR sufficient professional experience in the field to be deemed "highly qualified" to teach digital media classes according to our accreditor's standards.
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
  • Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace.
  • Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  • Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.
  • Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
  • Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in-seat digital media classes during the fall and/or spring semesters.
  • Advise and mentor digital media students as is deemed necessary by the CUS Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Provide strategic thinking in fulfilling the goals of CUS Department of Communication in support of the University Strategic Objectives.
  • Provide effective servant leadership among faculty, staff, students, and administrators.

Benefits

  • Pay is normally paid at $1,100 per credit hour. However, the University will decide if and how the course will be delivered based on the number of students or type of program. In cases where there is not full enrollment CCU reserves the right to pay courses or on a per student basis that could be at a pro-rated basis or a flat rate based on the nature of the program and enrollment.
