About The Position

An Affiliate Faculty in Digital Media in the College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) Department of Communication has primary responsibilities for teaching in-seat courses, on an as needed basis, collaborating with the faculty of the Department of Communication. The Affiliate Faculty in Digital Media will teach in-seat digital media classes during the fall and/or spring semesters. This Affiliate Faculty position has no guarantee of employment, it is on an as needed basis. In collaboration with the faculty of the Department of Communication, the Affiliate Faculty of Digital Media will advise and mentor digital media students as is deemed necessary by the CUS Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Affiliate Faculty of Digital Media will provide strategic thinking in fulfilling the goals of CUS Department of Communication in support of the University Strategic Objectives. The Affiliate Faculty in Digital Media will provide effective servant leadership among faculty, staff, students, and administrators.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Communication or a related field from an accredited college/university OR sufficient professional experience in the field to be deemed "highly qualified" to teach digital media classes according to our accreditor's standards.
  • A passion for CCU's Strategic Priorities and for Christian higher education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching courses in digital media at the college level, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in-seat digital media classes during the fall and/or spring semesters.
  • Advise and mentor digital media students as is deemed necessary by the CUS Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Provide strategic thinking in fulfilling the goals of CUS Department of Communication in support of the University Strategic Objectives.
  • Provide effective servant leadership among faculty, staff, students, and administrators.

Benefits

  • Pay is normally paid at $1,100 per credit hour. However, the University will decide if and how the course will be delivered based on the number of students or type of program. In cases where there is not full enrollment CCU reserves the right to pay courses or on a per student basis that could be at a pro-rated basis or a flat rate based on the nature of the program and enrollment. For example, pay rates for individual music lessons, educational programs, and lab courses programs may vary.
