About The Position
The State of Georgia is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Cosmetology Evening Program at Southern Crescent Technical College, Griffin Campus. This is a part-time position focused on preparing students for careers in cosmetology. The role involves teaching various cosmetology courses and supporting student success within the program.
Requirements
- Current Georgia Master Cosmetologist’s license
- Minimum of three (3) years of in-field work experience in the last seven (7) years
Nice To Haves
- Diploma in cosmetology
- Current Georgia Master Cosmetologist Instructor’s license
- Minimum of one (1) year teaching experience in a postsecondary setting
- Minimum of five (5) years of in-field work experience in the last seven (7) years
- Experience with dual enrollment students and programs
Responsibilities
- Teach courses within the cosmetology program, including day, evening, and online classes as assigned, on topics such as introduction to cosmetology theory, chemical texture services, hair care and treatment, haircutting, styling, hair color, fundamentals of skin care, nail care and advanced techniques, physical hair services practicum, hair services practicum, salon management, skin and nail care practicum, nail care, and advanced nail care.
- Travel to multiple campuses and centers may be required.
- Evaluate student progress in achieving course and program objectives.
- Assess student learning outcomes and support continuous program improvement efforts.
- Provide academic support, advising, and guidance to students.
- Collaborate with faculty, academic leadership, and transfer institutions to support program alignment and student success.
- Participate in program review, advisory committee meetings, and institutional initiatives.
- Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in education.
- Participate in departmental, college, and state faculty meetings.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
