About The Position

Join us for a hands-on, full-time summer internship experience at our Youngstown, OH location! Ursa Major’s Summer 2026 Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the aerospace and defense industry while contributing to meaningful, high-impact projects that support our mission and drive innovation in propulsion and advanced manufacturing. As the Additive Manufacturing Engineering Intern , you will support laser powder bed fusion part development and production at Ursa Major. You will learn and apply metal 3D printing knowledge by support ing the daily team operations by preparing build files, operating LPBF machines, supplementary equipment and post processing builds. The AM Intern will apply learnings from the everyday process to the design, modeling, and printing new supp ort / modeling strategies and contribute to a comprehensive design guideline and geometry library.

Requirements

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
• Hands on design and operation in any category of 3D printing
• 3D CAD experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience with metal additive manufacturing in the aerospace and/or defense industry
• Experience preparing build files and operating laser powder bed fusion machines
• Experience with Siemens NX

Responsibilities

• Support LPBF component manufacturing at Ursa Major
• Develop guidelines for more standardized support structure and general modeling strategies
• Create a library of standard witness and mechanical specimen geometries
• Work alongside the additive technicians to operate LPBF machines and post process builds
• Additive manufacturing build file setup and programming
