About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers with 18 locations across 7 states, known for its evidence-based clinical curriculum and highly individualized care. Their programs include detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. The company values its employees and seeks talented, passionate clinicians. This position is for the Avenues Recovery Center at Eastern Shore, a 100-bed residential facility providing inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The facility is newly renovated, modern, appealing, and offers various amenities in a hotel-like experience. It is situated on 7.74 acres of picturesque and secluded property, offering an ideal setting for client healing. The multidisciplinary staff includes therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, addictions counselors, and behavioral health technicians, all dedicated to providing compassionate and dignified care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required
- Valid state licensure/certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. ADT
- Substance abuse experience required
- Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
- Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs
- Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
- Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
- Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
- Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
- Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed
