About The Position
Restores, maintains and enhances the recovery of clients seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related impacts by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- Addictions Counselling diploma
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Advanced - Problem solving skills
- Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions
- Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
- Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
- Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms
- Knowledge in applying a cognitive-behavioral or other major modes of therapy
- Knowledge in factors affecting family dynamics
- Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the individual.
- Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco
- Knowledge in group dynamics
- Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
