About The Position

As a member of the Adult services team and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues through the implementation of addiction recovery programs. Addiction best practices will be utilized to improve client outcomes. Requirements

  • Chemical Dependency diploma
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the individual.
  • Knowledge in group dynamics
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools and procedures
  • Knowledge of therapeutic tools such as Motivational Interviewing and CBT.
  • Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
  • Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
  • Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model
  • Must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
  • Must bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.

  • Bachelor of Chemical Dependency is acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues through the implementation of addiction recovery programs.
  • Utilize addiction best practices to improve client outcomes.
  • Accurately triage addiction(s), collectively develop a recovery and case plan.
  • Deliver workshops and lecture material to clients.
  • Assess withdrawal symptoms related to substance use.
