About The Position

The department offers flexible schedules, creative therapies providing personal expression and multidisciplinary treatment, and a collaborative team approach. The Addiction Recovery Specialist will utilize therapeutic communication when interacting with patients, collaborating with the Wellness and Recovery care team, and working effectively with nursing staff, while exemplifying active listening and non-verbal communication elements. The mission is to improve the health of the community.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of experience in substance abuse treatment or as a Patient Care Technician required; or a high school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification; or an associate degree in mental health or a related healthcare field required.
BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required within 30 days of hire.
AHA First Aid Certification required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in substance abuse and/or addiction services is preferred

Responsibilities

Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
Strong Unit Based Council (UBC).
