This full-time position operates on a day shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a valid driver's license. Prior driving or transportation experience is strongly preferred. The Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation and supportive assistance to patients and guests, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and competent manner. This includes communicating important information relevant to the overall care plan to the multidisciplinary team. The role involves operating a van, escorting passengers, following established schedules with flexibility for changes, and determining the safest and most efficient routes. Safely carrying out one-person transfers, ensuring passenger safety with seatbelts and wheelchair security, and proper use of ramps are critical. The Driver will also manage oxygen supply during transport, follow regulatory processes for grievances and service requests, and transport medications, DME, and supplies while adhering to chain of custody for controlled substances. Administering first aid and CPR during transport, documenting accidents and incidents, and maintaining vehicles in a clean and safe condition are also key responsibilities. Daily documentation of passenger logs, mileage, and service records is required. The Driver may offer support services to other departments, including transporting documents. Work is typically performed in a transportation vehicle or office, requiring the ability to lift at least 50 pounds and sit/drive for extended periods. The role demands accountability for job-specific obligations and compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
