About The Position

MARTIN Technologies is seeking an experienced ADAS Software Controls Engineer to support advanced driver assistance feature development at a customer facility in Dearborn, Michigan. The role focuses on model-based software development, controls, requirements, and validation for hands-free highway assistance and related ADAS features. The engineer will work with feature owners, suppliers, and engineering teams to deliver reliable software that meets performance, functional safety, and production timing requirements. Responsibilities include developing and debugging MATLAB scripts, S-functions, Simulink models, and Stateflow logic; defining system and subsystem designs, interfaces, specifications, and implementation requirements; supporting feature use cases and performance targets; and developing and executing tests. The role also supports simulation, replay, bench, laboratory, and vehicle testing, functional safety activities, FMEA, validation methods, field-data analysis, supplier coordination, feature integration, performance sign-off, and production release milestones. This is a hybrid position requiring four days onsite per week at the customer facility in Dearborn. Onsite attendance is required from the first day, and overtime may be required. Candidates must currently reside in the United States and be authorized to work there. Visa sponsorship is not offered, and applicants who require current or future sponsorship or who reside outside the United States will not be considered. Relocation, if needed, is at the candidate’s own expense.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of MATLAB/Simulink modeling experience in a professional or educational setting, or a combination of both.
  • Experience with at least one relevant ADAS area, such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot systems, lane keeping, lane centering, or similar features.
  • Strong skills in MATLAB scripting, S-functions, Simulink model development, and debugging.
  • Experience with Stateflow and model unit testing.
  • Ability to document requirements at concept, feature, and technology levels.
  • Understanding of software integration, validation, and release timelines.
  • Familiarity with FMEA and functional safety analysis.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and supplier coordination skills.
  • Availability to work four days onsite per week in Dearborn, with onsite attendance required from day one and overtime as needed.
  • Must currently reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • ADAS feature validation and production release processes.
  • Computer vision, radar tracking, and detection of vehicles, pedestrians, roadway obstacles, signs, lights, or lanes.
  • Embedded hardware and software design.
  • Vehicle dynamics, Kalman filtering, and linear or nonlinear control methods.
  • Algorithm development using C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or comparable languages.
  • Statistical experimentation, field-data analysis, and vehicle testing.
  • AI/ML tools used within engineering development workflows.
  • Small-project leadership and ownership of process improvements.
