The Adaptive Technology Specialist, in conjunction with and under the direction of the Manager, Equitable Learning is responsible for the delivery of appropriate assistive educational technology training and learning strategies support to give students with disabilities the tools they need to enhance learning. The incumbent will provide students with disabilities the adaptive technology (hardware and software) and learning strategies to support academic success and maximize learning opportunities in their program of study. The incumbent will train, advise, and support students with identified learning challenges in the use of assistive devices and software platforms. The incumbent will provide on-site support of Assistive Technology software to support student access in the Mohawk Testing Centre, Accessible Learning Lab including the training of invigilators on use of AT and development of user guides. The incumbent records student appointments, inter-departmental database for inclusion in Ministry reports.
