About The Position

As a ProMedica Phlebotomist, you will collect products and/or specimens for procedures and perform testing while caring for patients before, during, and after collection. You will perform pre-analytic sample-preparation tasks, including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution, and specimen packaging. You will use quality assurance data to enhance services and recommend procedural changes to address quality issues and improve customer satisfaction. The role requires familiarity with test names and abbreviations and the ability to cross-reference tests to specimen types. You will follow strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis and use leadership skills to help train new associates or students. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute, or one year of phlebotomy experience.
Successful completion of an academic program that included substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience, such as a three-or-more-week clinical student rotation in a hospital setting.
Familiarity with test names and abbreviations and cross-referencing tests to specimen types.

Nice To Haves

Professional registration preferred, such as PBT(ASCP).
One year of experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.
