About The Position

As a ProMedica Phlebotomist, you will collect products and/or specimens for procedures and perform testing while caring for patients before, during, and after collection. You will perform pre-analytic sample preparation tasks, including centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution, and specimen packaging. The role uses quality assurance data to enhance services, recommends procedural changes to address quality issues, and supports customer satisfaction. You must be familiar with test names and abbreviations and cross-reference tests to specimen types. You will follow strict asepsis and antisepsis principles and use leadership skills to help train new associates or students. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
A diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute or one year of phlebotomy experience.
Successful completion of an academic program that included substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience, such as a three-or-more-week clinical student rotation program in a hospital setting.

Nice To Haves

Professional registration preferred, such as PBT(ASCP).
One year of experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.
