About The Position

This job is an hourly version of an existing salaried role, intended for employees below the government-mandated minimum FLSA pay threshold. The role involves providing professional mental health treatment to patients and families, including assessment of psychosocial functioning, mental status examinations, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations. Therapies will be provided to address mental health diagnoses affecting children and their families. Collaboration with various disciplines, programs, departments, and organizations is essential. The position also requires supervision of developing mental health providers, including training and direct supervision of Fellows. Clinical care to the Behavioral Health Integrated Program may also be provided on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

Master's Degree Social work or social welfare - Required
Prior clinical social work experience - Required
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
Knowledge of typical and atypical child development and related areas. (Required proficiency)
Knowledge of child psychopathology. (Required proficiency)
Knowledge of therapy and psychological assessment techniques with children and families. (Required proficiency)
Knowledge of behavioral methodology and principles. (Required proficiency)
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English. (Required proficiency)

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements professional interventions based upon knowledge of social work practice, human behavior and the social environment, as well as child and family development and functioning.
Performs psychosocial assessment with patients and/or family.
Intervenes/treats patient and/or family-based on the psychosocial assessment providing age and developmentally appropriate counseling, treatment and resources as indicated.
Encourages and utilizes feedback from patients, families and other staff to improve professional services.
Evaluates the effectiveness of professional services and redefines goals or modalities as indicated.
Organizes individual workload and sets priorities based on patient care needs and departmental standards.
Meets workload standards for assigned areas.
Adheres to professional medical - legal reporting requirements.
Seeks appropriate supervision on risk management issues.
Responsible for accurate documentation of professional services in the patient's electronic medical record.
Completes all requirements for record keeping and documentation, including billing data, in a timely manner.
Ensures required documentation of assessments and interventions are well organized, clear, and timely.
Ensures all written work is compliant and recorded properly according to hospital policy.
Completes and submits required information system data according to program, department and hospital standards.
Completes hospital, department and program requests for information within required time frames.
Completes and submits any required reports or forms to other departments or outside agencies (as appropriate) within required time frames.
Promotes a positive, professional work environment with patients/families, hospital staff, as well as agencies and organizations providing services to patients and families.
