About The Position
Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Acute Care Surgeons in Wilmington, DE to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This no-call Acute Care Surgeon job offers a high-impact surgical career without the corporate red tape. This role is for surgeons who may be looking to step away from 24-hour trauma shifts, relentless emergency general surgery call, and productivity targets at large health systems, and desire clinical autonomy outside the high-pressure hospital environment.
Requirements
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
- DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
- Open Background: We welcome Acute Care Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
- No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training
Responsibilities
- Use the latest advancements in wound healing to change lives in communities across Wilmington, DE
- Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
- Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
- Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
- Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
