About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Acute Care Surgeons in Los Angeles, CA to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a high-impact surgical career without the corporate red tape, providing an alternative to 24-hour trauma shifts, relentless emergency general surgery call, and productivity targets at large health systems. The position offers clinical autonomy outside the high-pressure hospital environment and a "no-call" lifestyle, meaning no nights, no weekends, and no pagers. Surgical debridement and bedside procedures remain part of the daily practice, and the role is designed to be less physically demanding than long operative cases and overnight shifts, allowing for a sustainable surgical career. A custom software is provided to reduce administrative time.

Requirements

Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
Open Background: We welcome Acute Care Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training

Responsibilities

Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
