About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Acute Care Surgeons in Los Angeles, CA to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This no-call Acute Care Surgeon job offers a high-impact surgical career without the corporate red tape. This is a true Monday–Friday surgeon job, so your evenings and weekends belong to you and your family. Surgical debridement and bedside procedures stay part of your daily practice, so you can put your procedural expertise to work every day. Bedside procedures are far less physically demanding than long operative cases and overnight shifts, so the strain on your body (and your sleep schedule) goes down and you can keep practicing for years to come. Direct patient outcomes based on your surgical expertise, not a hospital committee or department hierarchy. Our custom software is designed to slash admin time, so you’re not stuck charting at midnight when you could be home at a reasonable hour.

Requirements

Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
Open Background: We welcome Acute Care Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training

Responsibilities

Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
