About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Acute Care Surgeons in Huntsville, Alabama, to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and other post-acute settings. The role offers full-time or part-time weekday schedules without nights, weekends, call, pagers, trauma alerts, or emergency cases. Physicians use surgical skills through debridement and bedside procedures while evaluating and treating chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds. The role provides clinical autonomy, custom documentation software, and comprehensive wound care training; previous wound care experience is not required. Compensation is per patient and per procedure, with quarterly bonus programs and no earnings cap for independent contractors. Full-time average annual earnings are stated as $250,000–$500,000, with top performers earning more than $500,000 through performance bonuses.

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
Candidates must complete pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.

Nice To Haves

Previous wound care experience is not required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.

Responsibilities

Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
