About The Position
Wellstar is recruiting for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Neurosurgical practice. This position is a mix of clinic and in-patient rounding. Schedule is a day shift position working 4, 10 hour days a week, with a 1 in 6 weekend rotation.
Requirements
- Must hold an ACNP or AG-ACNP certification (RNFA required) or Physician Assistant OR experience
- ACLS/BLS required
- NIHSS and Modified Rankin certified
Nice To Haves
- Previous Neurosurgery experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform first OR assist duties approximately two days a week.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record in ambulatory practice.
- Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
- Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
- Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise.
- Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
- Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
