About The Position

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care to adult clinical and research neurosurgery patients on the Neuroscience General Care and Progressive Care Units. You will work in collaboration with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide on-going patient care and management. Responsibilities include performing inpatient rounding and discharge planning for general care neurosurgery patients. UW Health’s Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Council ensures that your voices are heard, promoting, supporting, advocating, and advising on APP practice and providing expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization. Requirements

  • State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
  • Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice (e.g., Adult; Adult/Geriatric Acute Care; Adult/Geriatric Primary Care) (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice (for Physician Assistant)
  • Active PA board certification (for Physician Assistant)
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
  • Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice (Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice)

Responsibilities
