About The Position

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated NP/PA to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network. Join an established, stable and busy Intensivist service of 8 physicians and 8 Nurse Practitioners. Minimum commitment 12 shifts/28 days nights (6p-6a). Rotating weekends and holidays. Candidate would have the opportunity to pick up more if desired. Responsibilities include assessment and management of ICU patients, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, supporting the rapid response team when called. The practice setting is Inpatient with excellent office support staff. The facility is a 387-bed hospital with a Level II trauma designation, a 24/7 Intensivist Service, a 36-bed ICU, and serves as a Major Stroke and Referral Center with Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Services. It is part of Ascension, a national nonprofit Catholic health system.

Requirements

• Critical care experience is required
• Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, with at least 2 years experience preferred but will consider new grads
• Eligible for state medical license and DEA/Controlled Substance registration
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.
• Master's degree of Nursing required.

Nice To Haves

• Procedural experience is a plus
• Will train with procedures
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
