About The Position

The Actuary, Pricing will play a key role in developing and executing pricing strategies for Medicare Advantage products. You will establish pricing assumptions, prepare and submit bids, supports regulatory rate filings and certifications, and help implement rates, new plans, and benefit changes. You will also advise Product Development on the cost impact of new products and benefits while developing and maintaining tools for pricing both standard and customized offerings. This role addresses a broad range of moderately to highly complex actuarial challenges and requires strong analytical judgment and cross-functional collaboration. The Actuary, Pricing will report to the Director, Actuarial Pricing. You will establish market-level financial metrics aligned with segment profitability goals, analyze results and projections, and recommend pricing actions to address gaps in targeted performance. You will manage forecasting cycles aligned with government-established timelines. Using market projections and experience-data tools, you will identify root causes and develop actionable insights. The Actuary, Pricing also monitors the competitive landscape and collaborates with market partners to create strategies that support profitable membership growth. You will be accountable for actuarial certifications related to rate filings, including attesting to compliance with state and federal rating and benefit regulations. In addition, the Actuary, Pricing advises executives on significant, often segment-specific functional strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree, recent and relevant work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations
  • MAAA
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms
  • Experience in more than two functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)
