Associate Actuary, Worker's Compensation Pricing

About The Position

We are growing and looking for an intelligent, forward-thinking, and motivated team member to join the Workers Compensation Actuarial Pricing team at AmTrust. Requirements

BS, BA or higher degree
ACAS or close and pursual of FCAS
4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines insurance experience
Workers Compensation pricing experience is strongly preferred
Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and SQL.
Ability to build strong relationships and enrich our positive team culture

Nice To Haves

R or Python knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

Drive Profitability: Calculate aggregate state rate indications, analyze state profitability at a segmented level and identify areas of opportunity and challenge, recommend rate changes or other actions that will provide the right balance between profitability and growth, provide actuarial support for quick rate filing approvals, ensuring rate filings are compliant with state regulations, communicate results and insights to Product and other business partners to gain consensus on a go-forward plan of action.
Performance Monitoring: Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards to track Workers’ Compensation results, track relevant economic trends and industry benchmarks, price large, high deductible and excess Workers Compensation accounts.
Additional Contributions: Actuarial research projects, planning, reinsurance pricing, support crossline of business sales and pricing initiatives, partnering with the Modeling team to assess predictive model outputs.
