About The Position

The Actuarial Technician provides technical and analytical support to the actuarial department of a life insurance company. The position supports data preparation, reporting, reserve support, pricing analysis, and experience studies, while ensuring actuarial data and reports are accurate and supporting business decisions related to life insurance products and financial results. The Senior Actuarial Technician will help ensure Navy Mutual’s data is accurate, automate reporting processes, and collaborate across the company to resolve unique policyholder requests. The role also supports audits and financial and regulatory reporting, maintains documentation and procedures, identifies data discrepancies, and contributes to process improvements. Additional duties may depend on the candidate’s industry experience, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business-related field.
Strong Excel skills and analytical ability.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in insurance, finance, or actuarial support is preferred.

Responsibilities

Compile, validate, and reconcile actuarial and insurance-related data.
Prepare recurring actuarial reports, spreadsheets, and supporting exhibits.
Assist with reserve analysis, pricing support, and experience studies.
Maintain documentation, workpapers, and reporting procedures.
Support audits and financial and regulatory reporting needs.
Identify and resolve data discrepancies.
Assist with process improvement and reporting automation efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain and verify required information.
Assist in resolving non-standard policyholder questions and requests.
Perform additional duties depending on industry experience and other duties as assigned.
