About The Position

We are looking for an Actuarial Consultant, Product & Pricing to play a key role in supporting the pricing strategy and profitability of our Life and Critical Illness portfolios. Reporting to the Director & Pricing Actuary, you will contribute directly to the development of competitive, financially sound insurance products. This role sits at the intersection of Actuarial, Product, and Finance, offering strong visibility and impact across the organization. You will be responsible for driving pricing initiatives, influencing product design, and ensuring that our offerings remain aligned with both market expectations and financial objectives. Your expertise will help shape strategic decisions while maintaining a strong focus on risk assessment, profitability, and regulatory compliance. This is a high-impact role where you will have the autonomy to optimize pricing processes, enhance modeling capabilities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of tools and methodologies. You will work in a collaborative environment while also taking ownership of key deliverables and driving them through to completion. The base salary range for this position is between $85,000 to $115,000 depending on experience. Details of our additional benefits are outlined below. This job posting is for an existing vacancy. Only one position is available. However, it may be based in multiple locations: Toronto (ON), or Waterloo (ON), or Montreal (QC). Requirements

  • 5+ years of actuarial experience, including experience in Life pricing
  • Strong proficiency in Moody’s AXIS
  • ASA/ACIA designation (or near completion of Fellowship)
  • IFRS 17 knowledge (conversion experience is an asset)
  • Comfortable working independently, taking ownership of work, and driving it through to completion
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage complexity to propose clear, actionable insights
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate within and across teams
  • Self-starter mindset with attention to detail and adaptability

Nice To Haves

  • IFRS 17 conversion experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead modeling of Life & CI products in Moody’s Axis
  • Assess profitability & risk to support pricing decisions for new and existing products
  • Conduct in depth analysis to support assumption setting, recommendations for product designs and features and assessment of product initiatives
  • Build and improve tools to streamline and enhance pricing processes
  • Ensure pricing methodologies meet internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Improve efficiency of pricing processes to achieve business goals
