About The Position

This internship is for an Actuarial Analyst role within Howden Re, a global reinsurance broker and risk, capital & strategic advisor. The intern will join an energetic, quantitative, client-facing team that specializes in creating and executing P&C reserve solutions. This includes preparing client submissions, working on loss portfolio transfers, and capital modeling. The team offers unlimited opportunity for learning, advancement, and taking on responsibility. The role involves working across analytics, brokers, and other functions to identify and respond to client needs, and develop opportunities related to products and services. Responsibilities include collecting and manipulating data, preparing client-ready presentations, understanding reinsurance contracts and products, managing workflow proactively, taking initiative on internal projects, and taking ownership for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of analyses. Requirements

Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a 3.0 or higher graduating GPA
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Pay close attention to detail
Legally authorized to work in the US

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree
Experience in the (re)insurance industry
Completion of Actuarial exam(s) or actively studying for an exam

Responsibilities

Create client submissions
Work on loss portfolio transfers

Collect and manipulate data in spreadsheets and other database applications
