Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology or Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related therapy field
  • 2 to 5 years in developing exercise programs for people with disability
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
  • For Cardiac Rehab and Live Well Center Departments: Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or Current ACLS certification from the American Red Cross or Allina in-house ACLS training (within 60 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology or Master's degree in Kinesiology or Master's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related therapy field
  • American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Specialist Or equivalent upon hire preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes initial and 90 day assessments.
  • Follows assessment protocols to complete assessment and enter data results into database.
  • Utilizes assessments to develop exercise program appropriate for client's goals.
  • Exercise includes locomotor training, overground activities, Functional Electrical Stimulation bike, cardiovascular and strengthening exercises.
  • Completes outcomes measures as appropriate.
  • Designs and delivers activity based exercise programs.
  • Delivers exercise program based on lagging factors from assessment.
  • Modifies exercise program as client progresses.
  • Enters exercise session data into database following protocols.
  • Provides documentation of client progress for insurance coverage , statistical and financial reporting.
  • Provides direction to fitness specialist to assure that exercise programs are delivered following protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned.
